The Making of a Portrait
| Date: May 21 - 24, 2010 | Instructors: Richard White and Anthony Browell |

We are back again this year in the Kiama region, just South of Sydney, for our portrait workshop. This coastal area is very picturesque and will lend itself to the photography we do. The workshop will concentrate mainly on making portraits, indoor and outdoor, using a number of different cameras and techniques. We will look at the use of available light, a single light source, a two light set up and window light and which is the most appropriate for the subject.
The whole essence of a good portrait is to portray the inner person in the finished photograph. How does one break through the veneer and get to the soul of the individual? How do we capture that spark that ignites the image? Throughout the weekend we will discuss and demonstrate various methods to reach those goals.
We will also explore part of the coast for a landscape and portrait session during one of our many field trips.
The workshop begins as usual Friday evening concluding late morning the following Monday.
Accomodation and Workshop Fee: $515
